The Bible Line - November 24, 2020

Series:

Summary

Natalie F. - I’m interested in getting eyebrow microblading done because 1) it saves time to get ready and go to work each morning by not having to put my eyebrow make up on daily - time I could have spent with my family at the breakfast table and 2) it looks good. With that said, I’m convicted because it’s considered a semi permanent tattoo and I don’t know what my position on tattoos is. Not to mention it dances on a fine line of vanity in my mind (as does makeup, nice clothing, certain hair styles and jewelry in general). Believe it or not, I’ve read MANY verses about tattoos, matters of the heart, etc. yet I can still see both sides. Since I’m aware the ways of man can seem pure in their own eyes and society can and does drift away from the truth (no matter what generation you’re in or what the fad is), I want to seek an outside perspective. I’m a born again believer in Jesus Christ and have been for many years. When I sought my husband’s advise on the matter, he didn’t see any harm in microblading. However, he didn’t do any research or provide any grounding for this position. Because I want to seek God’s will (not my own), I want an outside perspective from someone like Dr. Broggi who often can make things seem so clear. Thank you in advance for humoring this small conflict of the heart and for any response you may have.

Mary Beth, Orangeburg, SC - Tell me about cremation.

Darlene, Myrtle Beach, SC - Where in the Bible does it say...WHEN THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD BECOME OUR LORDS?

Carl S., Beaufort, SC - A friend was attending a Bible study with this listener...he had a number of tattoos prior to getting saved. But then he got another tattoo after getting saved. Was he really saved?

Richard S., Whitinsville MA  - How do you feel about hymns written by women? I am starting to love hymns and how rich in theology they are and recently I found out that “There is life for a look at The Crucified One” is written by Amelia M. Hull. Is it okay for me an adult male seeing as hymns can have a way of “teaching”?

Deborah H., Tyngsboro, MA -  Dr. Broggi, Do you know of a Jewish Charity that is reputable? I would like to donate to one but I do not know any. I see on TV about donating to the Jewish people starving and from the holocaust but they show the same footage over and over so I do not know if it is a good and reputable charity. I want to be sure to donate where the money is going to the people. Do you know of one?

Yvonne S., Hilton Head Island SC - What books of the bible were written by King Solomon?

Gabriel E., Pineland, SC - As Christians, how are we called to view politicians, and politics in general? Because it seems like right now, there is a lot of "idol worship" of politicians, from Christians and the world.
