Summary

Becky, Beaufort, SC -  How would you respond to someone who refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance because they claim they do not pledge their allegiance to anything but God?

Melissa, Beaufort, SC (Live Caller) - I have a question about the scepter will not depart from Juda?

Cathy, Beaufort, SC - In this past Sunday's sermon, The Unforgiveable Sin, you explained why God can forgive blasphemy against Himself as God the Father and also against Jesus, God the Son but not against God the Holy Spirit. You explained that the very first witness that God brought was the witness the Father gave through prophets and they, the Pharisees, put off God's prophets, they put off God's men, and because this is the testimony of God the Father, to say He is not is to blaspheme and call God a liar. The second witness they rejected was God the Son and by Jesus' own words and works that fulfilled prophesy after prophesy, He claimed to be the Son of Man and they rejected Him by calling Him a liar and wanted to kill Him. The third and final witness that was left, that could speak to them was God the Holy Spirit. After seeing the miracle, they kept saying that He was an unclean spirit. You explained that these men hated the Lord Jesus so much that they went against all sound reasoning and logic and said that the spirit of Satan was working in Him - not the Spirit of God and that is an unpardonable sin - when you reject the Father and the Son, there is only one testimony left and that is the testimony of the Spirit. You explained that these men were "on the cusp" of committing an irreversible sin. This is my question: How is it that they were on the cusp of committing blasphemy and not actually guilty of committing blasphemy? To me, it seemed clear that they rejected the Holy Spirit's testimony; that they rejected God's grace and; therefore, they blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. OR is God patient and merciful and since they haven't died there is still time for repentance? That those who die without faith in Christ then there is no forgiveness. Thank you for clarifying this for me and thank you for your commitment to preaching the full counsel of God's Word.

Brenda, Colombia, SC - It’s my understanding that Ezekiel 43 is describing the millennial kingdom. If so, I was wondering what is the purpose of the animal sacrifices in light of Hebrews 10:10-12? Thank you!

Heather, Minneapolis, Minnesota -  In Job when the satan was among the Lord. Can you help me understand how God was near satan? My understanding is that He is pure and holy and sin and evil will not be in the presence of the Lord Almighty. Thank you!

Lori, Richmond Hill, Ga (Live Dictation) - I have a question about when we die, I know that we go into the presence of Jesus if we are saved. Will we be in heaven with God to speak with Him before we have our resurrected bodies?

June, Ridgeland, SC -  I thank God everyday for your gift of teaching from His word. I have been continuously blessed by the 20+years at CBC. My question has to do with replacement theology. Where does the concept come from, historically? I don't believe scripture says anywhere, that God is finished with Israel. Quite the opposite. But I seem to be hearing so many questions about it lately. Possibly an effect of rising antisemitism?
