Ed B., Savannah, GA - Dear Pastor Broggi, We are confused and frustrated. The joy of my salvation has been a power that I’ve been able to count on in my dealing with those unsaved persons that I know, but now I read a quote by C H Spurgeon that reads as follows: “Christian, it is not with you that you may persevere or not -it is not an optional blessing- you must persevere, or else all you have ever known or felt will be good for nothing to you. You must hold on your way IF (my emphasis) you are ultimately to be saved.” Also “Perseverance is as necessary to a man’s salvation as conversion” I can feel physical loss of strength and power in my care for others when I begin to care about my own salvation. Anthony, Beaufort - There are a variety of promises in the Bible. Can we take a promise like Phil. 4:19 to mean something totally different than its intent?

Thomas, Midway GA - I know that Moses wrote Genesis through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, however I was wondering when in Moses’ life did this happen and is it mentioned anywhere else in Scripture pinpointing this date.
