Summary

I have friends who believe the 'original sin' was adultery and Cain was the fruit of this act. Could one be a Christian and still believe this?

I recently left a church that follows the teachings of William Branham, in which I still have many friends and family. I have talked to family members and the pastor about some of the teachings, trying my best to show the error of many of their beliefs, but to no avail. It has been very difficult  to watch people I care about deeply disregard clear scriptural teaching. Do you have any advice you could give me to further help these people?

I heard you use the term totally depraved a number of times. This term originated with Calvinism and is the "T" in the acronym TULIP. If we're totally depraved, how do you explain that God called Lot a 'righteous' man, or that Noah was 'perfect' in his day, or that David was a 'man after God's own heart?'

I heard someone claim that one of the gospel books was originally written in Hebrew. Have you ever heard of this and is there any manuscript evidence for this claim?
