The Bible Line March 24, 2026

Richard, Salt Lake City, Utah -  In Matthew 24:31the text indicates that the angels “gather together” (ἐπισυναγωγή) the elect. What is the textual and/or logical rationale for assuming that the ‘gathering together’ (ἐπισυναγωγή) spoken of in Second Thessalonians chapter two verse one. is the same event?

David, Lewiston, ME -  I have a friend who's grandmother who has recently moved into a nursing home. It sounds like her mind is slowly degrading. My friend is trying to witness to her before she is too incoherent to understand. She is having trouble because her grandmother is hung up on "Why is God doing this to me?", and my friend doesn't have a good answer. I slightly remember some things you mentioned in the Back to Basics: Apologetics sermons, but those aren't available for download. If you have any good advice or perhaps a past sermon you could recommend, that would be great.

Carl, Hollywood, SC (Live Dictation) - Please explain Proverbs 22:6-7 as it pertains to children. My small group bible study gave a version from the LSB but my MacArthur study bible says different.
