Maureen, Hilton Head, SC Before Christ died on the cross where did people go when they died?

I know temptations DO NOT come from God, but what about testing? Research seems to indicate that the words temptation, testing, and proving all mean the same. If that is the case, scripture does indicate that testing does come from God (Isaiah 48:10 (NASB) "Behold, I have Refined you, but not as silver; I have TESTED you in the Furnace of Affliction." Would you help me to understand?
