The Bible Line - July 15, 2014
Series:
Summary
Jennifer, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina - My husband and I moved to Mount Pleasant, SC in January. We have visited various churches but cannot seem to find a church where God is calling us to become members. I was wondering if you knew of any good churches in the area. I would like to stay in the Mount Pleasant area as we have young children including a baby. I like to be an active member, but one who stays on schedule with my children's school and the baby's naps. Therefore driving a far distance, at this time, is not feasible. I would really love some help with this.
How can we be preparing for what could very well be the demise of our country?
David, Ridgeland, SC - I was listening to a broadcast on May 20. You were speaking about man being appointed once to die. How does this work with those in the bible that Jesus and the apostles resurrected, to say that they were not truly dead takes away from the miracle, but to bring them back means they die twice. Just a little confused, if you don't mind I would value your opinion.
Is an apostate someone who has to have accepted Christ or is an apostate someone who has not yet accepted Christ?
What are Pastor Broggi's thoughts about us being in the latter part of the last days given situations like homosesxual marriage being applauded in books that are being carried in 'so-called' Christian bookstores.
Has Pastor Carl has ever heard of the book "Jesus Calling" and, if so, what his opinion is of it? Is there a distinction between this book and books like those from A.W. Tozer's "Knowledge of the Holy."
Placido, Westfield, MA - In light of James chapter 2 where James speaks of a fruit bearing faith, how can one properly understand the life of righteous Lot and the mess that his life was in Sodom and Gomorrah? Jesus said: "You will know a tree by it's fruit, a good tree cannot produce bad fruit and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit"; where is Lot's fruit?
By Gods grace, he allowed me to identify and escape a cult I was involved with a couple years ago that follow a self-proclaimed prophet. They believe only those under their "prophet" are the elect, and the rest will have to be raised in the second resurrection. I am perplexed why more people don't see the folly of their beliefs , but rather in talking with some over the scriptures, the members oppose and attack me personally, assaulting my character. My questions are 1. what are the tell tale signs of a cult, 2. why would God allow these false organizations to "appear" to be so close to the truth in many ways to cause people to be deceived? 3.how would you deal with a love one caught up in a cult that attacks you personally?
RONALD , North Charleston, SC - Is there such a thing as seed faith; seed giving?
