The Bible Line - February 5, 2019

Anthony, Mt. Vernon, Maine -This is a follow-up to a question that I had submitted previously. In response to my prior question, it was suggested that I listen to the sermon presented on January 13, 2019, which I did. However, the most difficult part of my question remains: Regarding whether women may be pastors, there seems to be a conflict between the prohibition in I Tim. 2:12 and I Cor. 14:34-35 (not allowing women to teach or speak in the church) and allowance to teach and prophesy in Titus 2:3-4, Acts 2:17-18 and I Cor. 11:5. I need help with this question because our church is currently searching for a pastor and, as a leader in the church, I want to help the church make the right decision. Thank you.

Jamie, Cleveland, Ohio -  I am attending a church where the married Pastor and wife are called pastors. I learned that a woman has a different role in the church and she can’t be a pastor. They seem to be ok with everything else but this bothers me...Is this a reason to leave a church? Another concern: Pastor mentioned Andy Stanley and TD Jakes in a positive light. Should I talk to him?

Paul, Savannah, GA - I have been happily married for over 20 years and I have two sons, a Freshman, and Senior in high school. There is no question that my entire family has been saved by the grace of God and our belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We regularly attend a bible believing church but I have not found a pastor that preaches thru the Bible as you do and with the clarity and detail that you provide. I would really like to start taking at least one night per week for my family to listen/watch STS for all of us to deepen our knowledge of the Bible. I'm writing to find out what series or book you would suggest that I start with in this regard. Should I start with Genesis or is there another series of lessons that you would recommend. Thank you very much for your advice. I can tell that the Lord is using you to bless many with your teaching.
