The Bible Line - Feb. 1, 2022
Series:
Summary
Steve, Geneva, IL - Is the Israel bible a good resource? I miss your preaching. For some reason I can't find sermons on your web site. Please help, if possible.
Nila, Beaufort, SC - This question is coming from the students in the 5th and 6th grade Sunday school class at community Bible Church. Where was Lazarus' spirit when he died for four days before Jesus raised him from the dead? Thank you!
A listener would like to know whether the "Rational Bible" by Dennis Prager (Genesis and Exodus editions) is reliable? Is Prager a Christian?
Anthony, Beaufort, SC - What is the difference between a prophet and a priest?
Lorna, Auburn, ME - Why are there so many LGBTQ folks in the world who all feel the same way. I believe the Lord Almighty is love, but what I don't understand is if God didn't want us to fall in love with the same sex why would he expect us to live alone for our entire lives. That, to me, is just cruel.
Bob and Ruth Anne G., Leesburg, VA - In our Bible teaching church the Sunday school class is delving into the Bible in order to study and understand the Biblical perspective of homosexuality and the LGBTQ lifestyle. It’s concerning to us and we’re not entirely sure we want to get involved in this study .. and just today it was suggested we read two books by Preston Sprinkle…People to be Loved
as well as Embodied. We know nothing of this author or these books so wanted to ask your opinion of him. This is a road we’re not sure we want to go down …we understand the church wants to go this route as they want us to “understand” what the Bible says and how to interpret what God is saying about this subject. However, we both know one thing…and we believe this one thing….and don’t want to entertain thoughts that would challenge that …we KNOW God said it is an abomination…He said it and that does it for us. But we also don’t want to be so closed minded that we don’t need to hear other perspectives as we are to love the sinner and hate their sin….we just pray for them but don’t have any desire to be tolerant of their lifestyle. Our church leaders are not suggesting we move away from biblical thinking at all…but admit this is a real issue and we have to live in (not of) this world. We need to study what God says and what the world is telling us. All this to say…To us it’s like studying witchcraft…we don’t want to even open that door and invite Satan in to try to persuade us…it’s just a road we’re not going to go down. We’d love to know if you know of this author because we don’t want to even get involved if he is a false teacher. There are so many books written on this movement but we’re not interested in what the “talking heads” say unless it’s something God wants us to know.
We’re not sure where to go with this class, although their approach is a loving but truth-seeking approach….we just don’t want to be easily deceived. We hope all this chatter makes sense…guess we’re just asking for your input.
A caller wants to know Is it wrong to pray for someone else who made a bet for them to win?
