The Bible Line August 25, 2026

Courtney, Troutman, NC - Hi Dr. Broggi, My husband and I did not grow up in a loving, Christian home. We both became believers later in life, ages 29 and 30 after we started having kids. We have been a part of a Bible teaching church for the past 14 years and the Lord has grown our family tremendously. We have 3 children ages 23,19 and 15. Our oldest daughter recently got married to a wonderful, godly young man and she has stayed on the narrow path since she got saved in 9th grade. She’s went on to serve the Lord in many ways since and graduated from Bob Jones University and is now pursuing to own a ministry based coffee shop one day and currently owns a permanent jewelry business called Endlessly Hesed where she gets to talk about God’s unending love with others. We praise the Lord for what He has done in her life and how she was shown such grace and kept from a life filled with shame and regret like her parents. Her brother, our 15 year old seems to be headed in the same direction. Here’s where my question is, our 19 year old daughter who is a professing believer and who lives outside our home just met a guy through a friend. This will be her first boyfriend. She’s been good throughout high school making good decisions, but we’ve questioned if she’s a true believer. When she moved out, she started to go to a church by herself, but she’s currently not attending one. The guy she’s talking to also is a professing believer that did not grow up in a Christian home and still lives with his parents. He’s also 19. They are hanging out a lot now unsupervised. They plan on going to the beach with another couple in the same Airbnb in a couple weeks. We told her our thoughts on this, but with her not living with us, we are asking what’s the best course of action? We are praying and plan on talking with our pastor when he gets back from vacation in the next week or so. I listen to your wife’s podcast and have greatly been blessed by it. I hope I’ve given enough details to help

Jesse, Bluffton, SC - Today is election day in SC for the Republican primary runoff for US Senate. One candidate has made it very public that they are 100% pro-life and would support banning abortion from the moment of conception without exceptions. The other only supports abortion bans when there is a heartbeat and supports exceptions for rape and incest. I have heard that it is better to vote for a candidate who is not 100% pro-life if they will be a more effective statesman over a candidate who believes that all pre-born babies deserve protection. What does the Bible say about discernment in choosing leaders and what type of candidate should Christians support in a primary? Also, if you don't mind me asking, who are you voting for in this election? (I understand if you don't want to share that info.)

Robert, Bluffton, SC (Live Dictation) - We have a good friend that is a strong believer and Sunday school teacher, however, she uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) for her lesson prep. We have concerns with her not allowing the Holy Spirit to do His working in her as a Teacher. We are older believer's and yes it is true that technology is changing, however, should we be concerned of AI replacing the scriptures in the pulpit or ministries in general? 

David, Beaufort, SC - I was reading Colossians this morning, which I have read numerous times before. Paul references a letter to Laodicea. I thought to myself, I don’t remember ever reading this letter. What do you know about this letter? Why was it left out of the Canon of Scripture? I am a member of CBC.
