Mothering From The Heart - November 20, 2013

Series:

Summary

I have a friend who has been posting on FB a lot about how "burnt out" she is on being a mother/wife and how she needs time to herself. She has been talking about possibly going back to work just to get time to herself. She has a beautiful little girl that just turned one. She is not the only mother I have run across that feels this way. I have four children myself, the oldest being 6 so I understand being worn out and overwhelmed but I have never wanted to go back to work to have "me time". I feel God calls mothers, if possible to stay home with there children. I know there is circumstances were they can't but to say "I know I am a better mother because I work" is a load! How do I confront/talk to a mom that is feeling this way and better help them? I am worn out at the end of the day but my heart is full when I go to bed. I pray God fills in were I failed because I can't do it, only through His grace. I am not a supper woman, I have the same faults they do!!!!! I just want them to see what God can do for them if they only give it all to Him. Please don't take this as I am better then them because I fail more then I succeed, I just can't imagine not being with my children every day! Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

I was speaking to several women and we got to talking about my struggles with OCD and anxiety which tends to get a bit worse during the postpartum period. I have had several suggest encapsulating the placenta because it is suppose to be great for depression/anxiety and other benefits. Besides the fact it simply grosses me out I have never found this to be supported by scripture from what I have learned about it but I would like your opinion and help on finding the scripture that would be helpful to share in these conversations. I always feel awkward when it comes up and don't want to be asked about it and not be able to defend it properly according to scripture. Thanks for your help and thanks for taking this weird topic

I would really like to hear about "birth control". I think I missed it before when it was discussed
