Mothering From The Heart - July 3, 2013

Series:

Summary

A young listener is pregnant out of wedlock. She is not planning on marrying the father. But the caller would like to know Audrey's opinion on whether she should remain in visible ministries such as choir...and can Audrey offer some scripture that would address this.

A woman asks Audrey about her thoughts on social media. She doesn't have Facebook, but many of her friends are encouraging her to sign up. She admits she doesn't need something else in her life she needs to manage.

A listener asks Audrey for suggestions on training ones self to incorporate God in everything one does. Is there a buzzword. As an example, when the children are fighting instead of screaming to, "please stop the arguing, that's not kind." taking time to explain how God likes us to speak to each other and what pleases Him. The listener wants to train herself to always think of the way the Lord in in the situation rather than going to the Lord as an afterthought.

A mother of young daughters has friends who are believers who are very independent, more egalitarian than complementerian in their roles with men. This caller's daughters look up to these women and see them as role models. What ought this mother say to her daughters?

There are many Christian women speakers and authors who have spoken and written very enlightening materials that teach many biblical truths. Are women not teaching men through these avenues and how does this fit with 1 Tim. 2:11-12. If these materials are beneficial to male spiritual growth, why can this not extend into the church in the area of Sunday school classes, Bible studies, etc. Should a class not study a book written by a woman or a class taught by one of these women?
I have a wonderful husband and he is a great father...but he's not a Christian. He is supportive of me & our children's involvement in church but will not join in and doesn't want to hear of salvation. What do I do about leadership. I want him to lead. (He is knowledgeable in the Bible - which makes it more difficult for me to understand him.)
