Search the Scriptures is a nonprofit Christian ministry located in South Carolina. We are committed to protecting the privacy of those who interact with our ministry. When you submit a question form or opt in to SMS communications on our website, we may collect:

We collect only the information necessary to respond to your question and, if you opt in, to send you ministry updates.

  • If you opted in: to send you general ministry updates and announcements via SMS

Search the Scriptures does not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information — including your phone number — with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With service providers who assist us in delivering SMS messages (e.g., our SMS platform provider), who are contractually bound to use your information only on our behalf
  • As required by law or to comply with a valid legal process

We retain your phone number and consent record for as long as you are enrolled in our SMS program. If you opt out, we will retain a minimal record of your opt-out to ensure we do not contact you again. Question submissions may be retained for ministry record-keeping purposes.

  • Opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message
  • Request that we delete your personal information by contacting us (see Section 8)
  • Ask what information we hold about you

We will honor all such requests promptly and in accordance with applicable law.
